ed4a0d0319 Screenedge show support for Clients
This provides a new protocol intended to be used by auto-hiding panels
to make use of the centralized screen edges. To use it a Client can
set an X11 property of type _KDE_NET_WM_SCREEN_EDGE_SHOW to KWin.
As value it takes:
* 0: top edge
* 1: right edge
* 2: bottom edge
* 3: left edge

KWin will hide the Client (hide because unmap or minimize would break
it) and create an Edge. If that Edge gets triggered the Client is shown
again and the property gets deleted. If the Client doesn't border the
specified screen edge the Client gets shown immediately so that we
never end in a situation that we cannot unhide the auto-hidden panel
again. The exact process is described in the documentation of
ScreenEdges. The Client can request to be shown again by deleting the
property.

If KWin gets restarted the state is read from the property and it is
tried to create the edge as described.

As this is a KWin specific extension we need to discuss what it means
for Clients using this feature with other WMs: it does nothing. As
the Client gets hidden by KWin and not by the Client, it just doesn't
get hidden if the WM doesn't provide the feature. In case of an
auto-hiding panel this seems like a good solution given that we don't
want to hide it if we cannot unhide it. Of course there's the option
for the Client to provide that feature itself and if that's wanted we
would need to announce the feature in the _NET_SUPPORTED atom. At the
moment that doesn't sound like being needed as Plasma doesn't want to
provide an own implementation.

The implementation comes with a small test application showing how
the feature is intended to be used.

882d55f1b5 Allow windows to specify that they should not get animated on window close
By setting the X property _KDE_NET_WM_SKIP_CLOSE_ANIMATION to 1 a window
can request to be excluded from any close animation. This property is
read in Toplevel, so that it is available to both Client and Unmanaged.

If the window has this property set the Scene suppresses the paintWindow
loop of the Deleted. Thus no effect needs to be adjusted. But an effect
using drawWindow directly would still be able to render the Deleted as
there is no suppression.

Furthermore the property is passed to the EffectWindow so that an
Effect can make use of this functionality and not start the animation
in the first place.

302271ce97 [kwin] Client supports an X property for color scheme
The X property _KDE_NET_WM_COLOR_SCHEME can be set on a window and
specifies the absolute path to a .color file describing the color
scheme of the managed client.

The Client reads this property and creates a QPalette from it. If
the property is not set or the value is incorrect, the Client uses
KWin's default palette.

The idea behind this property is to allow an application with a
custom color scheme to tell KWin which color scheme the window
decoration should use. So that the window looks as a solid pattern
again.

51c3c6cc42 no VD change for activation & unreasonable policy
F(S)UM mean "the focus is where the mouse is"
the mouse is not on the other virtual desktop
(and it was even granted regardless of the actual geometry/position)

The "unreasonable" focus policies expose an issue about
the present linked handling of "allow activation" and
"allow raising" (see https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/110919/ )

Activation would match "extreme" (if the window maps on the same
virtual desktop, half a mile away from the mouse, it won't
receive the focus) but not regarding raising (which is actually
an issue entirely different from FSP)

cfd93246b3 Toplevel::frameId() becomes virtual
The frameId only makes sense for a Client, in case of Unmanaged the
same window id is used as for the window() handle. Client creates the
frame and destroys it.

Given that it makes sense to let Client manage the frame properly.
The ::frameId() is therefore virtual and as base implementation it
returns the client id. Client reimplements it and returns the proper
frame id.

Method is also implemented in Deleted as it used to be passed to
deleted.

db18c08dd0 Move RootInfo and WinInfo into an own header and impl file
Main motivation for this change is that it's unhandy to have the class
definition in workspace.h and client.h while the implementation is in
events.cpp although nothing in events.cpp uses it directly.

By getting it out of workspace.h we get the header a little bit smaller
which should improve compile time given that it's included almost
everywhere.

In events.cpp the enum usage is changed to NETWinInfo as that's the class
where they are defined.

RootInfo does no longer hold a workspace pointer. Where it's needed it
uses the singleton accessor of Workspace.

6d0d9cfe43 Remove KWin::Notifications
Overall all notifications except compositing suspended by DBus were
configured by default to not have any action. This means all the time we
emit a notification we keep DBus and KDED busy for nothing.

All the cases when a notification is triggered ire also exported to
KWin scripting, so if one really needs to handle something in case a
window is moved, it could be done through a KWin script with much more
context about the event.

edb074cbc2 Split out screen handling from Workspace into own class Screens
Following the approaches of other split out functionality Screens is a
singleton class created by Workspace.

The class takes over the responsibility for:
* screenChanged signal delayed by timer
* number of screens
* geometry of given screen
* active screen
* config option for active screen follows mouse

The class contains a small abstraction layer and has a concrete subclass
wrapping around QDesktopWidget, but the idea is to go more low level and
interact with XRandR directly to get more detailed information.

All over KWin the usage from QDesktopWidget is ported over to the new
Screens class.

da85b5fdc7 Split out Activities related code from Workspace
All activities related code moves into new singleton class Activities.
This class gets only included into the build if the build option is
enabled which means there are less ifdefs all over the code and it also
handles better the moc doesn't like ifdef case.

The class holds the list of open and all activites, the current and the
previous activity and the KActivities::Controller. It also emits the
signals for any activities related changes.

Workspace still contains some activities related code. That is the
adjustment on change of current activity. Nevertheless the code looks
much cleaner now and does not contain the confusing naming conflict with
takeActivity() which existed before.

In all the places where Activities got used the code got adjusted and
quite often the ifdef got added with a fallback for the disabled case.

15aa42c565 Remove doNotManage hack for Java Applets
The hack used to be used to hide windows before they get embedded into
another window. This has been wrong on multiple levels:
1. it does not belong into a window manager - the window should take care
   of this by itself
2. Window title is not a proper way to identify windows
3. Using D-Bus to inform an X11 window manager about windows which should
not get managed is rather strange
4. The hack only works with KWin, but not with any other X Window Manager
5. Windows identified with this hack still appear in Alt+Tab, that is
they are managed after all. Only a flicker is suppressed
6. Such windows are shown in the taskbar which nicely illustrates how
wrong a D-Bus call to the window manager is

That the hack has been introduced for Java Applets in KHTML also shows
that this is wrong. Why does Gecko and WebKit not need such a hack? Why
is KHTML tied so closely to X11 and KWin? Having a hack for a technology
which is obsoleted (Java Applets) and shouldn't be used due to security
issues is another reason to no longer support this hack. This usage has
been removed from KHTML as of 67939b1 of kdelibs git repo.

f12cf0efba Replacement class for QCursor
With Qt5 QCursor does no longer provide ::handle() which was used to
set a cursor on a native XWindow for which we do not have a QWidget.

Also KWin has had for quite some time an optimized version to get the
cursor position without doing XQueryPointer each time ::pos() is called.

These two features are merged into a new class Cursor providing more or
less the same API as QCursor.

In addition the new class provides a facility to perform mouse polling
replacing the implementations in Compositor and ScreenEdges.

For more information about the new class see the documentation for the
new class in cursor.h.

b967527db3 Use XCB to resolve the X11 Extensions
The extension handling is removed from kwinglobals and moved into the
xcbutils in KWin core in namespace KWin::Xcb. The motivation for this
change is that the Extensions are only used in KWin core and are marked
as internal. So there is no need to have them in the library.

What remains in Extensions are the non-native pixmaps. This will be
removed once we are on Qt 5 as QPixmap can no longer reference an XPixmap.

The remaining code in kwinglobals also still initialize the XLib versions
of extensions emitting events. It seems like there are no XEvents emitted
if not done so even if the extension is correctly initialized with xcb.
This needs to be removed once the event handling is ported over to xcb.

334b4bf622 Move handling of Virtual Desktops into a VirtualDesktopManager
The ownership for virtual desktops is moved from Workspace into a new
VirtualDesktopManager. The manager is responsible for providing the count
of virtual desktops and keeping track of the currently used virtual
desktop.

All methods related to moving between desktops are also moved from
Workspace to the new manager, though all methods related to Clients on
Virtual Desktops remain in Workspace for the time being. This is to have
the new manager as independent from KWin core as possible.

An rather important change for the handling of virtual desktops is that
the count and the id of a desktop is now an unsinged integer instead of
an integer. The reason for that is that we cannot have a negative count
of desktops as well as it is not possible to be on a desktop with a
negative identifier.

In that regard it is important to remember that a Client can be on a
desktop with a negative identifier. The special value for a Client being
on all desktops is handled by using -1 as a desktop. For the time being
this is not adjusted but instead of comparing the virtual desktop ids one
should prefer to use the convenient methods like isOnDesktop and
isOnAllDesktops. This would allow in future to internally change the
representation for on all desktops.

the reason is that there're several updateVisiblity calls (notably one from the compositor)

Since they also invalidate the Withdrawn mapping state, that will fail as isManaged() test

7c6155a865 Drop xinerama related options
Behavior is now like all xinerama related options are enabled.
There seems to be no valid reasons to run multi screen without
xinerama support and even if a user would wish to do so she can
just disable xinerama in xorg.conf.

Furhtermore thanks to KWin scripting it is possible to achieve the
behavior as it used to be with the options disabled. E.g. it is
possible to span a window in fullscreen mode over all screens.

This change is in accordance to the discussion on kwin and plasma
mailinglists:
http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/plasma-devel/2012-January/018542.html

507ff411d6 Drop the WorkspaceProxy in Scripting
Unlike stated at several places in the code it is not difficult to
setup the connections to all Clients.

It would have been nice if the failed attempts to connect the Clients
would not have made it into the code as emitted signals which are
nowhere used. Not to mention that like in all places the signals to
inform that a state changed were emitted before the state changed was
performed.

6b148f1866 Move maximization when managing client
Maximization of oversized windows must happen BEFORE keepInArea() is called
because that will through resizeWithChecks() lead to an artificial constrainment
to the WorkArea which is the combination of all screens minus all struts
this fails if only one screen struts and as a result the window is no more
bigger than FullArea which is used as maximization enforcing condition.
(Maximization must also happen AFTER placement, because otherwise the window
will eventually be maximized to the wrong MaximizeArea - Screens(s) - (local) struts
depending on xinerama settings)

2c08a14ff4 kwin: implement _KDE_NET_WM_OPAQUE_REGION
This patch implements an XProperty named _KDE_NET_WM_OPAQUE_REGION
which gives the compositor the information which part of a window
is opaque although it is an ARGB visual. The basic ideas are from
http://www.mail-archive.com/wm-spec-list@gnome.org/msg00715.html

Additionally the patch makes kwin use this information to do a better
clipping in Scene::paintSimpleScreen which should result in a higher
performance.

32a82141f0 Adding a build option for KWin Scripting
It is possible that adding this build option broke the Scripting
component. This is something that should not happen. Unfortunately
by just ifdefing everything scripting related with scripting enabled
we have build errors. These are caused by the fact that the scripting
code includes e.g. client.h through "./../client.h". At one offending
place I changed that to "client.h", but there is also a client.h in
the scripting directory.

The includes and naming of the scripting files clearly have to be fixed!

3c633a48ab Use an X property for activity associations
the new property name is "_KDE_NET_WM_ACTIVITIES", of type XA_STRING,
and it's a comma-separated list of activity UUIDs.

kwin should respond to other processes changing the activity list for a
window, and filter out any bogus IDs. It also caches KActivityController's
list of activities to prevent dbus deadlocks.
